2020 brings a fresh round of developments and experiences in 2020. With more reasons than ever to bring your meeting or event to Coventry and Warwickshire, here are just some of them.

Central location

Coventry and Warwickshire offers the ideal central location for your next meeting or event. Located right at the heart of England, the area is easily accessible by road, rail or air.

Coventry rail station is one of the fastest growing stations outside London and currently undergoing significant transformation. A new footbridge is being created alongside improvements to the existing platform canopies and work on the second station building with shops, multi-storey car park and ticket office, as well as a bus interchange, has recently started; you can read more here.

As part of the preparations for our City of Culture year, the city is undergoing significant changes as public realm developments continue. Improvements will be made to public spaces, enhancing our infrastructure in the lead-up to 2021. All of these changes will make Coventry better accessible, easier to navigate and improve more run-down areas, all of which we hope will significantly enhance the visitor experience.

Extend your stay

Coventry and its surrounding region have a great deal to offer in extension to your business visit to the area. Filled to the brim with exciting museums, heritage attractions, places to eat and unique places to stay, you’ll be spoilt for choice when visiting the region.

Why not try out Coventry’s brand-new waterpark, The Wave? Located at the heart of Coventry city centre, the multi-million-pound facility is packed with six high-octane slides, gym and spa.

Rich in arts and culture, the region is home to several theatres including Coventry’s Belgrade Theatre, the Warwick Arts Centre and Stratford’s RSC to name a few.

Nearby museums are home to permanent galleries and host touring exhibitions throughout the year. The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum, the Midland Air Museum, Coventry Transport Museum and the Coventry Music Museum are just a few local to the city which offer a wealth of engaging and fascinating experiences. Across Warwickshire are entertaining family attractions which include the world-famous Warwick Castle, Shakespeare’s Birthplace and The MAD Museum, all of which will ensure entertainment and education in equal measure.

Each summer, Coventry welcomes the Godiva Festival, a three-day extravaganza of music and family-friendly fun. Held across the 3-5 July 2020, keep checking back for headliner announcements – previous years have included Feeder, Jake Bugg and even Tony Christie!

Looking forward

We have so much happening in Coventry right now, much of which is in preparation for the exciting years we have ahead of us. If your event is beyond 2020, then you certainly won’t miss out but there is so much more to come, we’d be delighted to see you back here in Coventry to celebrate our triumphant City of Culture year.

In fact, with less than one year to go until Coventry is UK City of Culture 2021, we are already busy preparing for our year in the spotlight. With a new City of Culture brand soon to be announced, a new website and a large summer event to expect in 2020 alone, we are hugely excited as we prepare for our spectacular City of Culture year in 2021.
