The Conference Coventry and Warwickshire team is getting in touch to assure you that, although we are currently in a national lockdown, we are still here to offer our support whenever you may need it.

In the case of meetings and business events, the current message is to stay or work from home wherever possible and the government is strongly advising against meetings taking place. It is only where it is absolutely necessary that a meeting should take place for education or training purposes, for example. However, we’re hopeful that this will change over the coming months and we can start to welcome back events and conferences to our region.

We wanted to share some news from our own team, citywide news, as well as sharing some useful links to advice and resources that you may find helpful during this difficult time. We remain positive that as we move into our City of Culture year commencing in May 2021, that we will be able to host business events and conferences when safe to do so.

If we can support with your query, current event enquiry, or questions about hosting your event here in the future, please contact us today.

Coventry City of Culture 2021

Whittle Arches

It is 2021 which means that it's Coventry’s year in the spotlight, as the UK City of Culture 2021.

The events recently announced are the first insight into the ways in which Coventry 2021 is radically rethinking what a City of Culture, and its legacy, means to the region and audiences locally, nationally and internationally.

This celebration will see the entire region get involved and benefit from the opportunities that being the City of Culture brings. All events are being planned in a flexible and responsive way, to allow them to be presented in line with the guidelines at the time they take place.

The programme shows the ways that Coventry City of Culture and its artistic partners are tackling the challenges presented by COVID-19, innovating how events are created, and how audiences can get involved.

To view the full list of announced events, please visit the Coventry 2021 website. The next phase of the programme announcement is expected in February, so keep your eyes peeled!

Our region attends MeetEngland Virtual 2021

Conference Coventry and Warwickshire will be attending MeetEngland Virtual 2021.

The event will be taking place from 9-11 February and will welcome international buyers and destinations to discover the high-quality business events offering across England. This will be a great opportunity for Coventry and Warwickshire to showcase its latest news, hidden gems and plans for safely welcoming back delegates and visitors.

The online exhibition will feature 30 destinations from across England, with opportunities to explore virtual exhibitor booths and enhance business connections through one-to-one meetings.

More information from the event and registration can be found on the MeetEngland website.

Community testing in Coventry

LFT Testing

In order to understand the way COVID-19 is transmitted in communities and reduce its spread, community testing for Coronavirus is available for anyone that lives or works in Coventry who is not showing symptoms of the virus.

The locally-led testing service will test people without COVID-19 symptoms (asymptomatic) in Coventry using lateral flow antigen testing.

The aim of testing people who do not have COVID-19 symptoms is to protect those most at risk, using rapid testing to speed up the process. To find your nearest test centre, please visit the Coventry City Council website.
